In the absence of a grid for power what would happen?When I first started going to schools for free, I had no idea that they taught this way. But the kids in many of the schools I went to said that they learned this way, that they studied this way as a way of trying to figure out if there was an effect or not.You could ask them to look out the window and see if they could see a light bulb. If there was no light bulb or they couldn't see one and it was after dark, they asked them to go back inside and pretend it was still early and try again. But if there was a light bulb and they could see it, they would tell you they didn't know about it.If there was no power company they might tell you that they used candles for light during the day and during the night they had no power either. When it was dark, they couldn't see a candle so they had to rely on candles. They didn't use gas light like we do today because it wasn't available then.Sometimes there would be a light in the classroom but the power wouldn't even turn on when the teachers came into the room. So the children were stuck without electricity in the classroom. When the teachers came in they would say 'See? We have no electricity.Now you can imagine what would happen if a teacher had a classroom with no light. It would be difficult to teach the students. The kids would be in a dark room and the lights would be off and that is all they could see.It is fun to think about these things in your child's imagination. If you find yourself wondering how long if there was no electricity what would happen? Take a moment and consider all the ways they would be unable to perform their normal daily activities.Think about all the things that they would have to do to make sure they got to school on time and to get their homework done on time. Consider all the things that wou ld happen to them when there was no electricity. Think about the things that would have to be taken care of in the event that there was no electricity.
